Junior League of Buffalo is on the lookout for a very special house

The Junior League of Buffalo is house hunting, but not just any house will do. The Junior League of Buffalo is seeking a special house, specifically a residence with at least 7,000 square feet of space inside, two staircases, a garage for at least two vehicles, a good-sized yard, and room for off-street parking. The house should be located within the Buffalo city limits or within a radius of 15 miles. If successful, it could be transformed into the 23rd Decorators' Show House next year. It will need to be vacant from January to June 2025 to allow decorators and crafts people to work and then for public tours in May. The Junior League, in partnership with The Buffalo News, has raised over $5 million for community organizations since 1981 through the Decorator's Show Houses.

The Junior League of Buffalo is house hunting, but not just any house will do.

What the organization has in mind is a residence with at least 7,000 square feet of space inside, two staircases, a garage big enough for at least two vehicles, a good-sized yard and room for off-street parking.

It also should be interesting historically and architecturally, and be located either within the Buffalo city limits or else not more than 15 miles away. If the house meets these qualifications, it could be transformed next year into the Junior League's 23rd Decorators' Show House.

The house will need to be vacant and available from Jan. 1 to June 1, 2025, to allow decorators and crafts people to work and then for public tours for about three weeks in May.

Referrals for potential homes can be emailed to [email protected] .

The Junior League, in partnership with The Buffalo News, has raised more than $5 million for community organizations since 1981 through the Decorators' Show Houses.

The 2023 Show House, the St. Patrick's Friary House at 102 Seymour St. in Buffalo's Hydraulics District, raised $175,000. A grant recipient will be announced later this month.
