2 Buffalo restaurants selected as finalists for national award
The award winners will be announced on June 10. Buffalo restaurants Southern Junction and Waxlight Bar à Vin have been named finalists for a James Beard Award. The two restaurants are competing in separate categories and will be revealed at the James Beard Restaurant and Chef Awards ceremony in Chicago on June 10. Southern Junction’s Ryan Fernandez is nominated for the Emerging Chef award, while Waxlight's Waxlight Bâââ Vin is up for the Outstanding Wine and Other Beverages Program award. The winners will be announced at the ceremony.

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Two Buffalo restaurants are in the running as finalists for a prestigious national accolade: a James Beard Award.
Southern Junction and Waxlight Bar à Vin were both selected as finalists for separate categories alongside four other restaurants from around the U.S.
Southern Junction’s Ryan Fernandez is up for the Emerging Chef award, while Waxlight Bar à Vin is nominated for the Outstanding Wine and Other Beverages Program award. The winners in each category will be unveiled on June 10 at the James Beard Restaurant and Chef Awards ceremony in Chicago.
