The mansion was originally built in 1927 for Orin Foster, a philanthropist and co-founder of Foster-Milburn Co., an early manufacturer of medicines. The 8,695-square-foot structure was designed by Paul F. Mann, who has worked on other well-known structures in the Buffalo area, such as the Harlow C. Curtiss Building.
