BUFFALO, N.Y. — It's a new collaboration between Explore and More and the NFTA celebrates all things Thomas the Tank Engine and friends. It's designed to get families more excited about taking the train and getting off at the new Canalside station.

"As a new dad I didn't know the power of Thomas, but it's nice to see everyone come down and really enjoy," William Edwards said, who brought his daughter Poppy for the inaugural ride.

"Me and Poppy's mom come down to Canalside all the time so it's awesome," he said. "I'm also on the board of the children's museum, so it's great to see something that's going to help include the museum and really bring families down to enjoy Canalside, and Poppy loved it."

"It just kind of came together organically, just having some conversations and saying hey with construction at Canalside, what's another fun way to bring the families here and that's really how it came about," Explore and More President & CEO Michelle Urbanczyk said.

Fisher-Price designed the wrap on the outside of the train, and it will be decorated inside soon too.

"We wrapped six cars, we have 27 cars total, The train comes every 20 minutes. It will be out every day, multiple times a day, but you're just going to have to go out and wait for Thomas," Kim Minkel, Executive Director of the NFTA, said. "That will be part of the fun right?"
