The crash occurred at the intersection of Hyde Park Blvd and Lockport Street at around 6:30 p.m. The motorcycle operator was treated at the scene and taken to the Erie County Medical Center in Buffalo by ambulance. Police closed the intersection to traffic in all directions while CMU investigators gathered evidence.

Niagara Falls Police Traffic Division Crash Management Unit (CMU) investigators are probing the cause of a motorcycle and car crash on Hyde Park Boulevard Tuesday evening.
The crash left the motorcycle operator with serious but non-life-threatening injuries to his leg, according to police.
Emergency crews responded to the intersection of Hyde Park Boulevard and Lockport Street at around 6:30 p.m. after a report of the crash. When they arrived, Falls firefighters and EMTs said they found the motorcycle operator lying in the roadway with what appeared to be serious injuries.
He was treated at the scene and then taken to the Erie County Medical Center in Buffalo by ambulance. There was no immediate update on his condition.
Investigators said a “preliminary review” of the crash indicated that the motorcyclist was traveling south on Hyde Park and the Optima was heading north. The driver of the Optima attempted to make a left turn onto Lockport Street and the motorcyclist struck the back end of the Optima.
During the turn, investigators said it appeared that the motorcycle hit the back end of the KIA Optima.
Police closed the intersection to traffic in all directions while CMU investigators gathered evidence and conducted mapping activities.
